Bill
Evans currently lives in Jay, NY. located in the north-east
section of the Adirondack Park between Lake Champlain and the
High Peaks. For the past twenty years he has used this
setting as the inspiration for his mountain landscapes executed
primarily in gouache and oil.
After
finishing degrees from the Hotchkiss School and Yale College,
Bill went on to study fine art at Munson-Williams-Proctor School
of Art, (now part of Pratt). For three decades he
maintained a studio and gallery in Utica, NY (John St.
Studios). His early work grew out of the Bauhaus tradition
and painterly abstraction. During that time, and
currently, printmaking and assemblage have been two other areas
of interest.
